Anti-sexual abuse law: Three-day workshop held
Participants included personnel from public organisations, civil society representatives and youth
A three-day workshop for trainers on anti-sexual harassment legislation was held by Mehergarh, a centre for learning, said a press released issued by Mehergarh on Sunday.
Participants included personnel from public organisations, civil society representatives and youth from across the country.
The participants were divided into provincial groups after the training and asked to develop strategies for the legislation’s implementation in their respective provinces.
The participants agreed that on the need for employees to realise that the law is designed so everyone can benefit from having a dignified work environment.
Participants from Balochistan suggested that the taxonomy (cartoons) of sexual harassers is a creative way to shift the focus of sexual abuse from the victim to the abuser.
The training’s resource person, Maliha Hussain, appreciated the positive attitude of participants towards the legislation’s enforcement.
