ANP does not have a militant wing: Shahi Syed
ANP leaders said that the party wanted to end the reign of violence and terror in Karachi.

Awami National Party (ANP) President Sindh Shahi Syed said that the party does not have a militant wing, since using weapons [in politics] goes against the teachings of Bacha Khan. The senator was addressing a gathering at the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) ground in Kaemari.
Syed said that the Pashtun were a peace loving people and followers of Bacha Khan’s philosophy of non-violence, adding that the party will not allow anyone to arm themselves.
Other ANP leaders that addressed the rally included ANP District Dir President Hussain Shah, Khyber-PakhtunKhwa Livestock Minister Hidayatullah Khan and General Secretary Sindh Bashir Jan.
ANP leaders, who addressed the rally in both Urdu and Pashto, said that the party has become the second biggest party of Karachi and wants to end the reign of terror and violence in the city.
A large contingent of police and rangers provided security to the rally along with ANP workers who were also on security duty.
Party supporters attending the rally were carrying party flags along with other party paraphernalia.
