Hajj applicants: 85,111 selected for govt scheme

Deadline for applying to private Hajj schemes is June 30.

LAHORE: A total of 85,111 people who applied to the government to go on Hajj on or before May 9, 2012, have been selected on a first-come, first-served basis, said the Pakistan Hajj and Umra Service on Sunday.

Applicants can check if they had won places on the Ministry of Religious Affairs website. The Hajj and Umrah Service said that people who applied on or after May 10, 2012, could claim a refund or apply to private Hajj schemes, for which the application deadline is June 30.
