HYDERABAD: The Sindh Professor Lecturers’ Association (SPLA) has condemned the termination of 10 professors of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University.

A meeting of SPLA on Friday requested President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhamad Chaudhry to take notice of the alleged highhandedness of the vice chancellor, Arshad Saleem Arain.

“The VC is acting as if the university is his fiefdom where no rules are followed,” claimed the SPLA’s regional president Yaqoob Chandio. On June 19, the SBBU terminated the services of 10 lecturers who were appointed on BPS-18 permanent jobs in January 2010.
