BAHAWALPUR:

Several MPhil and PhD students at Islamia University of Bahawalpur have demanded the government to accelerate distribution of laptops among post-graduate students. They were speaking to the media at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur campus on Thursday.

The students said they had so far received several text messages on their cell phones from the provincial government informing them that laptop distribution for MPhil and PhD students would start soon.

But, they said, no action had yet been taken in that regard.

They also requested the government to reconsider a condition barring those employed from receiving laptops under the scheme.

They objected to the condition and said that initially it applied only to government employees but later private-sector employees were also declared ineligible.

The students said laptops could help them in their research and added that they could not afford to purchase laptops with their meager incomes.

It is political lollipop to extend their cruel and inept rule. They don't want to change this system where beneficiaries are only politicians with connections. Public are fooled every time with these lollipops. Hope youth get to know these hyenas.
