Global unity: Countdown to peace day begins
Initiative has been taken by YFP, a student-run organisation with chapters in various educational institutions.
ISLAMABAD:
A countdown to observe International Day of Peace (September 21) kicked off in Islamabad on Thursday.
The initiative has been taken by Youth for Peace (YFP), a student-run organisation with chapters in various educational institutions.
“Peace day represents an unprecedented opportunity for global unity and the youth have a vital role to play in this process,” said YFP President Abu Bakar during a press conference.
“We have started our mobilisation campaign, in which we will be taking corporate sector, the media and universities on board with us,” he added. YFP will launch a national peace drive in the next three months to spread the message of harmony and tolerance. The drive will culminate with a mega event on September 21.
