Cricket: ‘Serious concerns’ over UAE as venue

Australia cricketers will be apprehensive if they are asked to play One-Day Internationals against Pakistan in the heat of the UAE in August, according to espncricinfo. The location of the series has not officially been confirmed, but UAE is believed to be Pakistan’s favoured venue. “How wise is it to be going to a region that you know is going to get up to 45-plus at that time of year? asked Australian Cricketers’ Association Chief Executive Paul Marsh. “That’s extreme heat. It’s also very humid. It’s of significant concern for us at the moment. The health and safety of the players needs to be at the forefront of any decision that is made.”
