MUZAFFARGARH:

Three women were allegedly sprinkled with petrol and set alight on Monday in the Lang village in the Khangarh area. Shabana Bibi said that when she woke up at night to see several men sprinkle petrol on Sakina Bibi, her mother, Nusrat, her sister, and her niece, Nagina and set them alight.

She identified Nadir, Sarfaraz, Tayyab and Saifullah as the culprits. “They are my husbands’ relatives. Earlier, they had killed my husband in the same manner,” she said. The women were taken to Nishtar Hospital for treatment where doctors said that the women had suffered 30 per cent burns but were out of danger. Police sources said Ghulam Hussain Baloch, a police wireless operator, had been burnt alive two years ago.  An FIR was registered against his in-laws; including his wife, Shabana Bibi, Sakina Bibi and Nusrat. The three had been arrested for it and had been released on bail 10 days ago. The suspects claimed that the women had set themselves alight to force them to take back the earlier FIR.
