MULTAN: Many lawyers, members of civil society and opposition parties, particularly the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had a reason to celebrate on Tuesday, following the Supreme Court’s decision disqualifying Yousaf Raza Gilani as the prime minister.

People in many districts of Punjab were seen dancing in the streets, distributing sweets and organising rallies in favour of the decision.

Workers from the PTI, the PML-N and lawyers offered prayers in front of the Prime Minister’s Camp in Multan. The women and youth wings of both parties also joined in on the celebrations.

High Court Bar Multan President Mehmood Ashraf said section 190 will be implemented on the government if the disqualification is not accepted by the government.

The next PM should be from Punjab. It would be great if it were Dr. Aitizaz Ahsan, however it looks like the PPP is going to go to the same south Punjab area. It is a shame that the institutions cannot get along and the egos got the better of them. Every elected govt without fail has been dismissed with the connivance of SC. Generals alone are not responsible from hanging ZAB to the PCO judges. Here is an article that covers recent happenings as if nothing has changed in Pakistan in half a century. This also shows how East Pakistan was forced to leave the federation.
