Terrorism issue stands between Pak-India talks
Indian PM Manmohan Singh says dialogue with Pakistan is only possible if it takes action against terrorism.
NEW DEHLI:
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said dialogue with Pakistan is only possible if it takes action against terrorism.
Addressing Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi on Sunday, Singh said that India expects Pakistan not to let its soil to be used for terror acts. He said that no progress can be made in the dialogue process with its neighbour if terrorism is not curbed.
He also stressed that India wants peace, prosperity and harmony in the region and want to solve any issues with its neighbours through discussions. Speaking on the on-going violence in Kashmir, he said the government was ready to talk to groups who are willing to lay their arms down.
