Commissioner holds meeting: Transporters asked to cut fares
Oil Tankers Association announced five percent cut in their fares.
KARACHI:
Commissioner Karachi, Roshan Ali Shaikh asked the transporters operating in the city to decrease their fares to provide relief to the people after significant cut in petroleum prices by the government. According to an official statement here Sunday, the commissioner advised the transporters to immediately slash the fares like the Oil Tankers Association did during a meeting with him. They announced five percent cut in their fares. He said that the immediate withdrawal of increases in the fares was also necessary to avoid quarrels between the transporters and the commuters of the city.
