Police have placed a ban on running game arcades and snooker clubs during school hours.
SWAT:
Police have placed a ban on running game arcades and snooker clubs during school hours. The decision came after a number of schoolchildren were seen bunking classes to go to such centres in Mingora and other towns.
Parents and teachers welcomed the ban, which was notified on Thursday.
“We appreciate the move and expect the decision will be maintained permanently,” said Noor Nawab, a resident of Mullah Baba.
District Police Officer Gul Afzal Khan Afridi said, “Not only was their precious time being wasted but they were also going into bad hands. We have taken affidavit from the owners of all the clubs to ensure implementation of our decision.”
Ziaullah, a teacher, said, “We hope the police shuts down these places for good.”
