ISLAMABAD:

A fire spewing ash all around erupted on Margalla Hills that was extinguished lit up again on Friday due to the hot and dry weather.

Fire tenders of Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) fire brigade attempted to put out the fire on Thursday. But once the fire tenders returned after controlling the flames, smouldering embers blazed once again on Friday morning due to the heat.

Officials of the fire department, when contacted, said the situation was under control. “In case of emergency, fire tenders will be sent to the site to extinguish the fire,” said CDA Fire Department Director Asif Majeed.

According to him, they are avoiding spraying water on the ashes unnecessarily since the capital is facing a severe water shortage.
