Labour rights: Maid’s nose cut for demanding salary
Employer attacked maid with a sharp knife when she asked for her salary.
FAISALABAD:
A woman allegedly chopped her housemaid’s nose on Tuesday for demanding her salary. Sandal Bar police said that Rukhsana Bibi, a resident of Chak 31-JB, had filed a complaint against her employer, Tahira Bibi, saying that she had attacked her with a sharp knife when she (the housemaid) asked for her salary. She was taken to a hospital by a relative, who works at a house in the neighbourhood. Doctors treating her said that she was now out of danger and will not require any surgery. SHO Mohsin Munir said police was waiting for the medical report to start investigation into the allegation. The employer was unavailable for her comments.
