Seven extortionists arrested in Karachi
Police arrest seven extortionists in separate raids, recover weapons and Rs 10,000.

Police in Karachi claimed to have arrested seven extortionists during an operation, while the accused claimed to have been arrested on political grounds and pleaded not guilty, Express News reported on Tuesday.
Three extortionists were arrested when police launched an operation in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of the city. Police officials said one 9mm gun and a repeater were seized during the operation.
While speaking to the media, one of the suspects, Kashif, claimed that he and his friends were arrested purely on political basis. He further said that the weapon seized was licensed.
In another operation at Ahsanabad, four extortionists were arrested. Police claimed to have recovered weapons and cash worth Rs 10,000.
The suspects, while speaking to the media said that they were labours, and that they had nothing to do with taking extortion. They further said that they were being accused unfairly, and pleaded not guilty.
