KARACHI:

The storm inside the Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) refused to die down after secretary Akram Khan confirmed he will take legal action against the federation’s president Doda Khan upon the latter’s failure to back up his allegations of corruption against the secretary.

Both officials had levelled serious charges against each other and the general body meeting took place on Sunday in an attempt to resolve the issue.

“Doda failed to come up with concrete evidence and I’ve talked to my lawyer to file a defamation case against him,” Akram told The Express Tribune. “He has no proof and damaged my reputation. From my end, I’ve presented a 150-page file of evidence which includes bank statements of illegal transfer from the PBF’s account to Doda’s personal account.”

An arbitration committee, headed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Boxing Association President Waqar Maroof, will decide the fate of Akram and Doda who, despite repeated attempts, was unreachable.
