Fuel crisis: Lawyers move consumer court against CNG owners
Plaintiffs prayed CNG owners and Ministry of Petroleum must be bound to supply CNG gas to consumers in the district
HARIPUR:
In the backdrop of the ongoing fuel crisis, two lawyers on Monday moved a local consumer court over suspension of gas supply to motorists. In their petition, Advocate Sher Bahadur Khan and Advocate Tahir Khan have sought replies from all gas station owners of the district, District Police Officer, District Coordination Officer, and Haripur Compressed National Gas (CNG) Association President.
In a suit filed under the Consumer Protection Act 1997, the plaintiffs said that the suspension of CNG violated the act and caused serious problems to the consumers. They prayed that the CNG owners and the Ministry of Petroleum must be bound to supply CNG gas to the consumers in the district.
Consumer Court Judge Justice Aiman Zia issued notices to all the defendants to appear before the court and submit replies by June 12.
