2nd contempt plea: SHO given three days to respond

The court had ordered the SHO to register the case and submit a copy of the complaint to the court in three days.

LAHORE:

Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Safdar Ali Bhatti on Monday gave Islampura police station house officer till June 12 to submit his comments in a second contempt of court petition against him.

Petitioner Advocate Rana Adnan stated that the SHO had not registered his embezzlement complaint against a property dealer, Muhammad Ali Bhatti, in accordance with the court’s directives in the first contempt petition.

He said the court had, in the first contempt plea, ordered the SHO to register the case and submit a copy of the complaint to the court in three days.

The order had followed the SHO’s failure to register the fraud case in accordance with a May 21 directive of the court.

In the original petition, Rana Adnan had submitted that Bhatti had taken Rs45,000 from him on April 29 and promised to find him accommodation on rent in two days.

He had said the respondent failed to honour his commitment and later refused to acknowledge the payment.
