USAID appoints new mission director for Pakistan
Jonathon Conly, newly appointed Mission Director, is expected to take office by the end of this month.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has appointed Jonathon Conly as its new mission director for Pakistan this month, as the agency works on cutting its developmental projects in Pakistan from 150 to 50 this year.
The newly appointed mission director is expected to assume office by the end of this month.
According to the information provided by the USAID, Conly has been a member of the Senior Foreign Service since 1996 and holds the rank of Minister Counsellor. He has also been working for international developmental projects since 1971 as a Peace Corps volunteer.
Conly has previously served in Pakistan in 1989-1990 and has also worked at US embassies in Egypt, Bangladesh and Kenya amongst other countries. His last overseas assignment was in Georgia.
The new posting comes as the USAID announced it was pulling out of Sesame Street Pakistan amidst allegations of corruption. Earlier this year, the USAID announced it would only fund 35 programs in Pakistan in 2013.
