Administrative control: HEC, PNCU placed under new ministry
The notification of devolution of both these departments was issued on June 11.

Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan National Commission for UNESCO (PNCU) have been given under the administrative cum financial control of Ministry of Professional and Technical Training. The notification of devolution of both these departments was issued on Monday. Federal Minister for Professional and Technical Training Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada also took briefing from the Executive Director of NAVTTC. The minister directed the Executive Director NAVTTC to initiate training courses for convicted women and children in prisons so that they could be given training of handicrafts and other possible skills so that after completing their jail terms they could lead successful lives.
