Accident: COMSATS security guard killed on road

A Suzuki Potohar was impounded by the Shehzad Town Police and its driver, Liaqat, was in custody.

A COMSATS University security guard was hit by a government vehicle on Lehtrar Road in the jurisdiction of the Shehzad Town Police.


Mazhar Hussain, the security guard, was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, said the police.


Initial details did not show what caused the accident, however, the vehicle, a Suzuki Potohar belonging to the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority was impounded by the Shehzad Town Police and its driver, Liaqat, was in custody.

The matter would be investigated once the body is handed over to the family for burial, a police official said. He added that the driver would be prosecuted if he found to be culpable for the death of the security guard.

The body was still in the Pims mortuary when this report was filed.
