A young man committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol in Madina Town, area police officials said.
Soon after reaching the site, the police moved the body to District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital for autopsy.
According to Pirwadhai Police Station House Officer (SHO) Raja Rashid, Atif Rauf, 22, was fond of a girl who did not share the same feelings. He shot himself in the chest with a pistol on the grave of the girl’s grandmother.
The police found a piece of paper in his pocket which said, “I am going to kill myself over failure in love”, the SHO added.
The police are waiting for the postmortem results in case as a complete probe is necessary before concluding their findings in the case, SHO Rasheed added.
