Mumbai attacks: India seeks access to plotter’s wife
Strategic Dialogue will be co-chaired by External Affairs Minister SM Krishna, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
India will seek access to Pakistani-Canadian Tahawuur Rana and Shazia, wife of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative David Headley, as the third Indo-US strategic dialogue starts in Washington next Wednesday, Zee News reported on Friday.
The Strategic Dialogue will be co-chaired by External Affairs Minister SM Krishna and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Krishna will lead the Indian delegation during the dialogue where issues related to illicit financing will be discussed.
According to sources, the request to interrogate Shazia and Rana will be made by Home Secretary RK Singh to his US counterpart Jane Holl Lute during the homeland security, counter-terrorism and intelligence sub-dialogue, which is also scheduled to be held on the sidelines. India has already been granted access to 50-year-old Pakistani-American Headley but has so far not been able to quiz his Pakistani-Canadian friend Rana and wife Shazia.
