Bhopatian chowk: Cost estimate revised to Rs63.9m

Project will include widening of the road, lane marking, installation of traffic signals

The Lahore Development Authority on Friday revised the cost estimate for renovation of Bhopatian Chowk intersection to Rs63.9 million.



The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by DCO Noorul Amin Mengal.  The meeting was told that the upward revision was unavoidable in view of the rise in traffic on Raiwind Road and commercial activity in the vicinity. The project will include widening of the road, provision of a median and slip lanes, lane marking, installation of traffic signals and acquisition of more than four kanals of land.

The meeting was attended by LDA vice-chairman Aamir Asghar Dar, LDA Director General Ahad Khan Cheema, Additional DG (Housing) Irfan Bhatti, Chief Town Planner Chaudhry Muhammad Akram, Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency Chief Engineer Saeed Akhter and LDA Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed.
