ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) chairman Ghayas Paracha was released after being arrested for around an hour on Thursday, reported Express News.

The I-9 Islamabad police had arrested Paracha in relation to an FIR lodged against him earlier.

A contingent of police was also deployed outside the police station in fear of a possible protest by CNG association members against the arrest.

The APCNGA has announced to shut down CNG stations across the country from June 6 and has threatened that the strike will continue indefinitely if the government goes ahead with the move to increase the price of compressed natural gas.

“Unfortunately, when they [the government] increase the price, consumers end up paying for it. But it is a loss for us as well,” Paracha had said.

No one gives a damn about the country or the people. CNG association is just saving its business.
