Malik warns Punjab government against ‘messing with government’
In a stern tone, Malik requests Punjab government to give up protests, join government.
ISLAMABAD:
Lashing out against the Punjab government on Wednesday, Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Affairs Rehman Malik requested the provincial government in a stern tone to “stay away” from him, and other terrorist organisations such as Laskhar-e-Jhangvi as “they are only harming the country”.
Malik further requested the Punjab government to join hands with the centre rather than protesting against the rulers in order to let democracy prevail in the country. “The Sharif brothers should stop meeting during dark nights.”
Commenting on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s protest against loadshedding and his recent visit to his camp office at Minar-e-Pakistan via bus, Malik said, “You cannot get anything by traveling in buses… Why have your police still not recovered the kidnapped son of the governor? Why don’t you tell the nation that you have failed?”
He pleaded the provincial government to deal with foreign matters on the federal level. “When the Iran delegation comes to Pakistan, they say that a deal has been finalised between Punjab and Iran. For God’s sake, this is one federation.”
Asserting that the general elections will be held next year, Malik predicted that the future elections will be in favour of the current ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). “I hope the opposition will act sensibly.”
