Orient labs: Owners remanded in judicial custody
Judicial Magistrate Saeed Rafique remanded three brothers who own Orient Labs for 14 days.
LAHORE:
Judicial Magistrate Saeed Rafique on Tuesday remanded three brothers who own Orient Labs for 14 days. The brothers are accused of reopening a sealed factory which later collapsed and killed 26 people in February. Anti Corruption Establishment officials say that chief executive Zaheer Iqbal and directors Zafar Iqbal and Zubair Iqbal had, with the connivance of corrupt officials, broken the locks on the factory and reopened it after it had been sealed for failing safety regulations. The brothers are also being tried in a separate case regarding the factory collapse. Charges are to be framed in that case on Wednesday (today).
