More than 135,000 sq km area affected by floods: Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said more than 135,000 square kilometers of the country's area has been affected by floods.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Qureshi said that Pakistan is in immediate need of $450 to 500 million for the flood affectees. He said that the provision of clean drinking water is a major challenge along with food and medicine.
The foreign minister stated that the livestock and agriculture of flood hit areas has been badly affected.
Qureshi said that he has briefed the UN General Secretary Ban Ki Moon on Pakistan's flood disaster.
