Inflation: Index down 0.05% during week
During week under review, average prices of 9 items registered decrease.
ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended May 31, has registered a decrease of 0.05% over the previous week for the lowest income group.
The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 175.45 points against 175.53 points registered in the previous week, according provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The SPI for combined groups was down by 0.09%; down from 187.03 points in the previous week to 186.87 points this week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups is inflated 12.20%. During the week under review, average prices 9 items registered a decrease, 15 items increased and the remaining 29 items’ prices remained unchanged.
