Court case: Cop testifies in sectarian killing case
The trial of Lahori from the banned militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi continued inside the Central Jail on Monday.
KARACHI:
The trial of Akram Lahori from the banned militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi continued inside the Central Jail on Monday. The case is being heard by the Anti-Terrorism Court-III and deals with charges of murder and weapons possession. Mohammad Ajmal – whose alias is Akram Lahori – and his accomplices Ataullah and Mohammad Azam are accused in the case, which deals with an alleged sectarian attack in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority in 2002. On Monday, a police officer testified in court that he had detained several men in the Defence area after the attack and had recovered weapons from the three accused in the case.
