Addressing shortages: CDA to acquire 15 water tankers from private sector
Tankers would be available within five days, and would remain with the CDA until the monsoon season begins.

The intense water shortage in the city has forced the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to hire private water tankers.
As such, the CDA is seeking the services of 15 water tankers , while the leave of water management wing enquiry office officials have been cancelled, with the office to remain open 24 hours a day. According to CDA Chairman Engineer Farkhand Iqbal, the required tankers would be available within five days, and would remain with the CDA until the monsoon season begins. CDA sources said 1,500 complaints regarding water supply have been received.

In Rawalpindi, due to the decrease in water at Khanpur Dam, the water supply has decreased by one third to 4 million gallons daily, according to Rawalpindi WASA MD Raja Mehmood. He said WASA is trying to supply water through tankers and Rawal Dam to the areas hit by the shortage.
