ABBOTABAD:

A man was critically injured in an acid attack on Saturday evening.

Police quoted 20-year-old Waqas, son of Muhammad Iqbal and resident of Malsa village, saying that he was closing his shop at a local flea market when three men threw acid on his face.

Waqas suffered burns on his face, chest and arms and was taken to Benazir Shaheed Hospital. He was later shifted to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad, where his condition is said to be critical.

Police registered a case and started investigations. This was the second incident of acid throwing within a week, as only three days back a married woman survived a similar attack in the limits of the city police station.
