Gilani directs Law minister to formulate legislation on missing persons
Ministry of Interior to issue instructions against notification of Rahdari for non-custom paid vehicles.

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Saturday directed the Law Minister to formulate necessary laws with respect to missing persons and make amendments in the Anti-Terrorism Law to help counter terrorism in the country.
The decision was taken during a high level meeting at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Saturday. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and was attended by Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, other ministers and parliamentarians from Balochistan.
The Ministry of Interior will also issue instructions to law enforcement agencies within three days to stop issuing ‘Rahdari’ for non-custom paid vehicles and all those currently issued will cease to exist forthwith.
Law enforcement agencies will be authorised to seize non-custom paid vehicles in Balochistan and take action against the offenders in accordance with the law. Temporary permission for driving non-custom paid vehicles will also stand cancelled.
It was also decided that no one shall be allowed to drive vehicles with tinted glasses or glazed papers.
The prime minister directed Malik and Raisani to meet regularly in order to review the law and order situation in Balochistan, especially in Quetta, and take necessary action to help improve the sitation.
Malik was also directed to assess the logistic requirements in consultation with Raisani to enhance the capacity and capability of law enforcement agencies to help curb the crime rate.
