MIANWALI: There should not be two weekly holidays and electricity bills should be written off in the flood affected areas, said the National Assembly deputy speaker Faisal Karim Khan Kundi on Wednesday. Kundi was addressing a press conference in Chashma along with the chairman Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda). According to details, the deputy speaker said that the international community should help Pakistan in rehabilitation of the people affected by the flood because Pakistan has been playing a vital role in the war against terror.

He said that the government should take back its decision about two weekly holidays, especially in the affected areas,  in order to speed up relief operations. He also demanded that the government should write off the electricity bills of the residents Mianwali, Dera Ismail Khan and other affected areas.

Chairman Wapda, Shakil Khan Durrani, said during the press conference that the devastation caused by the floods this year was much more than that in 1929.
