Man killed for illicit relations with a woman

The 25-year-old Zubair Ahmed came to meet Noreen Bibi at her house on Wednesday, said a Koral police official.

ISLAMABAD:
A man was stabbed to death on Wednesday for allegedly having an ‘illicit’ relationship with a married woman. The 25-year-old Zubair Ahmed came to meet Noreen Bibi at her house on Wednesday, said a Koral police official.

Her husband, Iftikhar, found out about the meeting and was waiting at the house with the “intention to confront him”. Police said that Iftikhar and an accomplice Muhammad Azam, attacked Zubair on his arrival and stabbed him. “The two of them then dragged Iftikhar inside the house and stabbed him multiple times,” the official added.

Later, they shifted the critically-injured Zubair to a nearby hospital where doctors were unable to save him. The hospital’s management called the local police station, and a police party was sent in to arrest both suspects before they could escape.

Iftikhar, during investigations, told police that Zubair had illicit relations with his wife. He had even shifted from his previous residence in Ghori Town to Khana Dak a few months ago. However, Zubair managed to locate their new residence and continued to pay visits to his wife whenever he was not at home.

“On Wednesday I found out about Zubair’s plan to visit my wife,” Iftikhar told the police. “I just wanted to talk to him,” he insisted. The talk soon turned into a brawl and an enraged Iftikhar stabbed Zubair.

“On realizing that Zubair was bleeding to death, I immediately took him to the hospital,” Iftikhar pleaded.

The police have registered a case against the two. A police official said that the accused wanted “old enmity” to be listed as the motive behind the crime.
