Death anniversary: Shams Tabraiz 761th urs begins
As many as 20,000 people attended the event on the first day.

The three-day 761st death anniversary of sufi saint Shah Shams Tabraiz started on Friday. Thousands of pilgrims arrived in the city to participate in the commemorations. As many as 20,000 people attended the event on the first day. Nayyar Abbas Shamsi, the current successor of the sufi saint, inaugurated the commemorations. Civil Defense, Aufaq Department and Rescue 1122 have set up special camps at the shrine. Some 200 police personnel have been deployed at the premises.
