Attacked On Duty: Policeman shot dead during snap checking

Hyderabad SSP Haseeb Afzal Beg said the officers were trying to stop a vehicle for checking when they were attacked.

A police constable was shot dead and another was injured while carrying out snap checking in Latifabad unit 3, near the psychiatric hospital on Friday.



The assailants fled the scene after opening fire. The 24-year-old deceased policeman, Rashid Ali, and constable Gul Khan were posted at the Hussainabad police station.

Ali died at the hospital while Khan’s condition was reported critical. According to Hyderabad SSP Haseeb Afzal Beg, the policemen were trying to stop the vehicle for checking when they were attacked.
