The Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) has vowed to resist any moves by the government to reopen the Nato supply routes.
The coalition of religious political parties held a demonstration outside Karachi Press Club on Friday to protest the expected restoration of the supply to Afghanistan. The speakers at the rally announced that they will hold a “long march” from Karachi to Islamabad if the government lifts the blockade.
Addressing the participants, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Mohammad Hussain Mehanti said that the DPC will not allow the government to reopen the Nato supply routes.
He held the US, Nato forces and the ongoing Afghan conflict responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation of Pakistan and its sinking economy.
