Fresh start: PPP leader ditches party to join PML-N

Ex-PPP minister Saheb Dino Ghaho said differences had emerged when he was minister in 1993, was sidelined for long.

KARACHI:

Former provincial minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, Saheb Dino Ghaho, announced on Wednesday that he was joining the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

“The differences between me and my party emerged when I was the minister,” said Ghaho while speaking at a press conference. He was the Sindh forest minister in 1993. “I was sidelined for many years, but now on Marvi Memon’s invitation, I have joined the PML-N. I believe only the PML-N can solve the problems of the people of Sindh.”

PML-N leader Liaquat Ali Jatoi said that the PPP was using the “Sindh Card” as a “Corruption Card” to grab the land of its opponents in rural Sindh. “The PPP government has destroyed all national institutions and since it came to power more than 6,000 people have lost their lives in violence. It has failed to bring peace to the country,” he added. PML-N leader Marvi Memon announced that the party would launch a membership campaign in Thatta from June 1.
