Clerk’s beating: Strike enters fifth day
Protest against the beating of a clerk last week allegedly by some lawyers.

Hundreds of Education Department employees continued their strike for the 5th day on Wednesday to protest against the beating of a clerk last week allegedly by some lawyers. The protesters, including the clerical staff and the teachers, took out a rally from the office of the executive district officer that culminated at the commissioner’s office. They demanded that the police register a case against Advocate Rana Shaukat Ali, accused of beating the clerk. Malik Muhammad Zakir, the All Pakistan Clerks Association divisional president; teacher leaders Mazhar Hussain Langrial and Malik Zamin Hussain, and leaders of grade-IV employees, Muhammad Yousaf and Anwar Kamal addressed the rally.
