Balochistan unrest: Bodies of three ‘missing persons’ found in Quetta
Two policemen shot dead in ambush.
QUETTA:
Four bodies, including three of Baloch missing persons, were found in gunny bags in Ferozabad and Pashtoonabad neighbourhoods of Quetta on Monday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Saryab Sikandar Tareen said a police patrol found three bodies stuffed in gunny bags dumped at an abandoned place.
The bodies were shifted to the Bolan Medical Complex Teaching Hospital for medical examination.
Medics said that the bodies bore rope marks around their necks, which indicated that they were strangled to death.
According to the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VFBMP), an organisation striving for the safe recovery of missing persons, the victims, all aged between 25 and 30, had gone missing last month near Zarghoon Road in Quetta.
“They were missing persons and their video footage was shown by police during the Supreme Court hearing in Islamabad,” VFBMP chairman Nasrullah Baloch said.
Police officials killed
Meanwhile, two policemen, including an assistant sub inspector (ASI), were killed and two others injured in an ambush on Saryab Road.
A police van was returning from a court when armed men lurking near Aid village opened indiscriminate fire on it, killing two policemen on the spot and leaving two others critically injured.
The deceased were identified as ASI Abdul Qayyum and Constable Mohammad Asif.
