Money talks: MQM, PM to discuss development budgets

Discuss Karachi projects including circular railway, Lyari Expressway, KIV water supply project, M-9 motorway.

On Monday, a delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement leaders led by Dr Farooq Sattar met Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to discuss the shadow budget for 2012 to 2013.

The party suggested that work on Lyari Expressway should be completed soon as it would help decrease the traffic. Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, who was present at the meeting, said that JAICA team was scheduled to visit next month. He added that they would make firm decisions regarding the Karachi Circular Railway Project. The project will be completed with funding from the Japanese government. The party leaders and Gilani also agreed, that the KIV Water Supply Karachi project would be given priority and would receive government aid. Senator Sughra Imam said that a Malaysian firm had agreed to start working on the M-9 Motorway between Hyderabad and Karachi.

if the ppp wants to retain power and win the next geneeral election they have to listen to all the demands of MQM and dole out money for them and not for Karachi or Hyderabad.
