E-payments: KPT awards mandate to Barclays

KARACHI:
The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has awarded a mandate for electronic payments to Barclays Bank Pakistan, in order that the latter may manage its monthly payments pertaining to royalty and wharfage of container terminals and shipping corporations through the Barclays Online Banking platform. The system will help KPT receive timely payments and improve cash flows and interest income. A signing ceremony was held in this regard on Friday, May 12 at the Barclays head office in Karachi. KPT Chairman Mohammad Aslam Hayat and Barclays CEO Shazad Dada were present at the ceremony along with their respective teams.
