ISLAMABAD:

Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), on Monday, forwarded a proposal to announce summer vacations from mid-June to the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) for final approval.

Talking to APP, FDE spokesman Waqar Ashraf said the directorate has forwarded the proposal to announce summer vacations from June 16 to August 26 in its educational institutes to Secretary CADD Imtiaz Inayat Elahi and the matter will soon be decide.

The directorate has decided to delay the summer vacation this year so that students are on holidays during the entire month of Ramazan and celebrate Eidul Fitr during the annual vacation. Last year, summer vacation was supposed to end on August 10, but the FDE had to extend the holidays till after Eidul Fitr.

Meanwhile, students are anxiously waiting for the decision because they find it difficult to attend the institutes in scorching heat, while others want to finalise their travel plans.  A majority of students spend the vacations in their hometowns.
