Mishap: Four drown in River Chenab

Rescue officials said that 15 men, all residents of Mughal Colony, went to Jalalpur Jatan for picnic near the river.

GUJRAT: Four men drowned in the River Chenab on Sunday, while one of their friends was rescued. Rescue officials said that 15 men, all residents of Mughal Colony, went to Jalalpur Jatan for picnic near the river. While they were swimming, five of them were carried away from waves, of which one, Junaid, managed to swim back to the coast. Residents of the area gathered after hearing their friends shout for help and called the Recue 1122. They looked for the missing men for hours, but did not find any one of them. Those who drowned were identified as Nadeem, 32; Tasleem, 30; Imran, 25; and Akash, 20.
