Woman tortured to death

BUREWALA:

A woman was allegedly tortured by her husband and in-laws over suspicion of having illicit relationship, who later succumbed to her injuries at a hospital, police said on Friday.

The victim, identified as Shabnam Kausar, a resident of 505-EB, was reportedly subjected to severe torture with batons by her husband, Shahid Saleem.

She sustained critical injuries and was initially shifted to THQ Hospital Burewala.

Due to her deteriorating condition, doctors referred her to Sahiwal Hospital where she later died during treatment, police added.
