PPP worker facing many criminal cases found dead
.

A senior worker of PPP Shaheed Bhutto, who was booked in many cases of extortion and robberies, was found shot dead in a flat in Qasimabad on Friday. The police said the body of 55-year-old Kashif Qaimkhani alias Baaghi, which had a gunshot in the back of his head, was locked in a flat, owned by his friend.
The brother of the deceased, Asif Qaimkhani, has ruled out the possibility of suicide. Police are suspecting murder because they could not find the weapon used in the incident. However, it will be early to declare his death as suicide or murder as the postmortem report is awaited.
In 2015, Baaghi surrendered to the police at Cantt police station through the SHC where he had filed a petition for protection of his life. His lawyer, Ayaz Hussain, had pleaded that Baaghi feared that he would be killed in a fake encounter by police. He spent around the next three years in prison while fighting all the criminal cases against him. He has been survived by his wife and a minor daughter.
