Waqar Mehboob clinched the All Pakistan Senior Squash Championship title by defeating Mansoor Zaman 3-2.
KARACHI:
Waqar Mehboob clinched the All Pakistan Senior Squash Championship title by defeating Mansoor Zaman 3-2 in the final, getting his hands on the Rs20,000 prize-money. “It’s a national title, winning it has boosted my confidence as it doesn’t matter who is taking part in it,” Mehboob told The Express Tribune.
“I was down after the ban and my game suffered but now I am getting back thanks to my father and uncle Jansher Khan.” Meanwhile, it was learnt the event was not under the Pakistan Squash Federation’s (PSF) umbrella. “It was a provincial event boasting the name of national championship,” said PSF Secretary Abdul Wahab Marwat. “I went there to support the efforts by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association.”
