Inflation: Index up 1.86% during week
SPI was recorded at 175.53 points against 174.23 points registered in the previous week
ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended May 24 has registered an increase of 1.86% over the previous week for the lowest income group.
The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 175.53 points against 174.23 points registered in the previous week, according provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for combined groups was up by 1.86%; up from 183.61 points in the previous week to 187.03 points this week.
During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows: 12 items registered a decrease, 15 items increased and the remaining 26 items’ prices remained unchanged.
