The portal provides information regarding a vehicle once its registration number is entered in the search box.
However, no personal information is provided by the system, it displays only the necessary information about the vehicle and the owner’s name.
Punjab had also launched a similar verification portal earlier.
Sindh police’s forensic division had introduced a system for checking vehicle engine and chassis numbers, which aims to help the anti-car lifting cell and the general public as well.
The verification system will ensure that buying and selling of vehicles with proper engine and chassis numbers, and also help with the identification of stolen and snatched vehicles that could be used in terrorist and other illegal activities.
